Hello!
I could only find all kinds of different build threads and no general answer to my question. I recognize the differences between the listed engines but I don't have experience with reliability and tuneability of them. Much less the prices of them.
If I wanted to see 400 WHP on a non-GTR Skyline (R32/R33/R34), what would the breakdown of modifications and costs be? Asking to buy a Skyline and invest or to buy the engine and fit into an S platform.
R32 GTS-t 2.0 L RB20DET turbo I6, 215 PS
R33 GTS-t 2.5 L RB25DET DOHC turbo I6, 250 PS
R34 GT-T 2.5 L RB25DET NEO turbo I6, 280 hp
R34 GTR 2.6 L RB26DETT twin-turbo I6, 332 PS
I can imagine the newer the better. I can also imagine it would be the easiest to bring the RB26DETT to 400WHP, but considering these engines are swapped into just about anything it will be hard to get a good one cheap.
What do you experts say?
